It is an intensive course focusing on heart-to heart discipleship delivered in a small group format of 8 or fewer people over a period of 13 sessions. Promised Land Living is known for creating a safe and confidential environment for participants in these sessions.

There are twelve modules plus an orientation meeting at the beginning of the process. Typically, it is delivered in one of three formats:

  1. Single semester (fall or winter)
  2. Two semester – taking 6 weeks off for the holidays
  3. Summer fast track (weekly)

Promised Land Living teaches people how to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. It is not a “quick fix.” It trains you how to coach yourself for a lifetime.

How long are meetings?2019-12-20T19:49:09-05:00

Meeting length is usually 2 hours.

What if I need to miss a few meetings?2019-12-20T19:49:28-05:00

All meetings are recorded and uploaded to a private classroom for participants for access for up to 6 months after the group ends. However, if you feel you will miss more than two meetings, it is recommended to wait to register for a future group that will work better for your schedule.

What is the commitment outside of the meeting times?2019-12-20T19:49:44-05:00

The homework consists primarily of being conscious of the way we are thinking and communicating. Every session you will leave with the opportunity to practice “shifting” from lies to truth in some form. The homework is primarily self-directed applied learning of principles during your daily discourses.

How big are groups?2019-12-20T19:49:58-05:00

Minimum of 5 people, maximum of 8 people.

What about mixed groups?2019-12-20T19:50:31-05:00

While Promised Land Living is designed for men or women, groups are single gender.

Will I be asked to share private information with the group?2019-12-20T19:50:44-05:00

The group will never demand information from you. You will have freedom to share as little or as much as you desire. We have had participants say very little in the group as the environment was very new and there was a lot to take in. Two of those women wound up being on the volunteer leadership team for PLL they received so much from the group. You also have the option of taking the group more than once at a lower fee which helps to cement the learning. This is a very safe environment where you are empowered to share as you see fit, learning how to use your voice and represent yourself. That in and of itself is a powerful exercise!

Is this a Coaching Group?2019-12-20T19:51:03-05:00

Yes. You will be led by a certified Coach who will walk you through a curriculum using a “coach approach.” The participants experience personal storytelling, many “ahas” and tremendous support from the group as the group journeys deep into the heart of the Promised Land rest described in Hebrews 4-6. Additionally, the participant receives two hours of individual coaching. The first session is an uncovering session and focuses on uncovering a key lie that is operating in your life. The second session is a discovery session and focuses on discovering the unique essence of your heart designed by your heavenly Father.

Where do the groups meet?2019-12-20T19:51:16-05:00

Typically, by video conference, using Zoom. With a single click, you are in the conference room! The only technology that is required is your phone or computer with a web cam and microphone. A web host will be assigned to your group and help to ensure smooth technological interface for you.

What are the technological requirements?2019-12-20T19:51:30-05:00

The only technology that is required is your phone or computer with a web cam and microphone.

Is this Biblically based?2019-12-20T19:51:47-05:00

100%.

How can I be sure this doesn’t conflict with our church’s teaching?2019-12-20T19:52:01-05:00

Promised Land Living works with the basic proponents of the Apostle’s Creed. The Participant takes what they are learning and integrates into their life – that would include their church life and beliefs – we have men and women in both liturgical and evangelical churches profoundly impacted by the work the Holy Spirit is given permission to do through the Promised Land Living process.

How is this different from a Bible study?2019-12-20T19:52:16-05:00

We are not studying the word. We are taking the truths we know to be evident in scriptures and learning how to make them self-evident in our lives. Think of PLL as a knowledge to wisdom coverter, taking the knowledge you have of scriptures and converting it into something you can use in your daily lives to the blessing of you and those around you.
