Our Coaches

Promised Land Living

What is being coached the PLL way like?

Our coaches have been trained to help you hear directly from God.

Imagine you’re stuck.

There’s no way around the situation. You keep bumping up against the same wall.

Now imagine someone sitting beside you as you share your conundrum. They listen closely and lovingly. They reflect back what you are saying and invite you to consider how the truth reshapes the way you view your current situation.

Before you know it, you see the situation from a completely different perspective. From that vantage point, you find a viable solution.

Our unique approach helps you hear directly from God and respond confidently to His voice. The Holy Spirit is given ultimate authority for speaking.

The results are typically nothing less than magnificent, leading to God receiving tremendous glory.

“Stuck” can be centered around anything:

  • Conflict in relationships
  • Questions about faith
  • Feeling like there is never enough time
  • Navigating family dynamics
  • Competing priorities
  • Lack of clarity around what to do next
  • Life transitions

We believe you have been designed by God to hear directly from Him.

Our unique approach helps you hear directly from God and respond confidently to His voice.

Want to experience this for yourself? We have a seat just for you.

Coaching FAQs

Our approach to coaching is this: You are in charge, not us.

While you may feel tempted to look to us for direction, our intent is not to guide your decisions. Instead, we want to use the coaching process to give you the space to explore and listen to God regarding what you want and need in life. Participants find this liberating.

We are here to support your movement forward, provide strength when courage wanes, inspire faith when doubt arises, and keep you
accountable when old patterns surface.

Many people express to us that they have never experienced coaching like this before. They have never felt respected in the way we strive to demonstrate respect to you.

We meet you right where you are at, right where God is working.

We don’t try to get you to think a certain way. We don’t try to get you to see something. We don’t have our own end goal in mind for you. We want to listen, respond, and where you will allow us, interact simply and genuinely together.

Imagine being in a space where you have the freedom to think out loud while someone listens to you — free of judgment, full of curiosity on your behalf.

  • We get in the way of our own progress.
  • Life gets in the way of really living.
  • We have a sense that with a little help, we could really move forward.
  • We’re not sure if anything will change, but we’re so sick of where we’re at that we’re willing to step into the unknown to be free of our current cycle.

If you see yourself in any of these statements, your PLL Certified Coach will work with you to address the real-life issues you’re facing with confidentiality as a top priority.

We look forward to helping you experience greater levels of clarity, courage and conviction leading to a more abundant way of life!

Our Coach Presenters not only have professional training, but they also:

  • Have experience coaching others.
  • Go through an intense 1-2 year certification training through PLL.
  • Must engage in ongoing training in the PLL community in order to maintain their certification.

Other requirements:

  • Minimum of 60 hours of certified coach training with 50 coaching hours
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong Biblical foundation
  • Belief in the Apostle’s Creed as well as an understanding of 2 Timothy 3:16-17

This is an important question, and we are glad you asked! PLL is both a safe and sacred space for you to explore your faith and learn to interact with God. This is why it is imperative that we protect the confidentiality of every person in the group. Each member of the group signs a coaching agreement detailing the role and responsibilities of members with regard to confidentiality, including refraining from sharing stories outside of groups. The agreement also includes a clause ensuring members of a household cannot hear what is happening in the group and that recordings are made available to members only and are not to be shared with anyone outside of that group. These steps preserve the confidentiality of the group to create the optimal social-psychological safe environment for sharing.

We are so glad you asked! Our team is expanding.

Certification takes 1-2 years and includes four basic steps:

  • Take the course as a participant.
  • Meet with the Director to begin the process.
  • Complete our formal training.
  • Once training is complete, submit an application to be certified.

PLL Coach Presenters are followers of Jesus who have a heart for helping believers live into the fullness of the life God intended for each of them. This includes a process of uncovering lies, discovering God’s unique design for each person and inviting them into a deeper walk with God. Most of our participants know who they are IN Christ but they don’t know who THEY are in Christ. If you are passionate about discipleship, have coaching experience and are willing to walk with fellow believers in a small group process ( you will be fully trained in this), this might be the community of believers to join!
